Submit a photo from 2017 of a memorable Couchsurfing experience and be featured in the Couchsurfing calendar!

Last year, we held an awesome photo contest and made this calendar to share with the Couchsurfing community! The response was so great that we decided to repeat the contest this year.

How it works:

Submit your photo using the submission form below anytime before November 6, 2017. We’ll be cutting off submissions at 9am PST (Update – now 5pm) on November 6th. Then, we’ll kick off the voting period – we’ll release and share an album of all the photo submissions on Facebook to share with your friends and family. To vote on a photo, all they have to do is click the “Like” button or heart! They’ll have until November 13th to vote for your photo.

We’ll be selecting 12 winners for this contest. 7 of them will be determined through voting – so be sure to share your submission with your friends and family! The remaining 5 winners will be selected by the Couchsurfing team.

Next, we’ll include the photos in the calendar and you’ll be able to order the calendar in time for the new year.

Contest Rules

ENTRY:  No purchase necessary to enter or win. Contestants will enter by filling out the submission form with a photo and story about their experience with Couchsurfing.

ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open to anyone over the age of 18.  Void where prohibited by law.  Contestants residing in those areas where the contest is void may participate in the contest but may not win any prizes.  Couchsurfing retains the right to remove and disqualify submissions that, in Couchsurfing’s sole discretion, do not align with the Couchsurfing Terms of Use, and can remove any entry for any reason. Entries should not duplicate entries to the 2017 Couchsurfing Calendar Contest. Entries must not violate our Member Conduct and Content requirements, which can be viewed here: http://www.couchsurfing.com/about/terms-of-use/.

WINNER SELECTION:  13 winners will be selected. 7 of those winners will be selected through voting via Facebook likes – the seven photos with the highest votes will be featured in the calendar. The remaining 6 photos will be selected by Couchsurfing staff. 

PRIZES:  The 13 winners will receive a free Couchsurfing T-Shirt and a free Couchsurfing calendar. 

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winners will be notified within 14 days after the determination date.  Inability to contact a winner may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: a. Participants hereby grant Couchsurfing a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to broadcast, publish, store, reproduce, distribute, syndicate, and otherwise use and exhibit the Submission (along with their names, voices, performance and/or likenesses) in all media now known and later come into being for purposes of trade or advertising without further compensation. Participants represent and warrant that they have full legal right, power and authority to grant Couchsurfing the foregoing license and if applicable, have secured all necessary rights from any participants in, and contributors to, their Submission in order to grant such a license. b.  Couchsurfing is under no obligation to use any Submission or return the Submissions to participants.

USE OF CONTEST INFORMATION: All entries become the property of Couchsurfing. Couchsurfing reserves the right to use any and all information related to the contest, including submissions provided by the contestants, for editorial, marketing and any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.

CONDUCT: All contest participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.  Couchsurfing, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person it finds to be tampering with the entry process, the operation of its web site or is otherwise in violation of these rules.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Couchsurfing is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected email or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur.  If for any reason, the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort, Couchsurfing may cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest.  Entrants further agree to release Couchsurfing from any liability resulting from, or related to participation in the contest.
