Our new app and a site upgrade are on the way
The CouchSurfing community has long been asking for better tools, and our team is hard at work making it happen. We’re taking our first steps towards making a CouchSurfing experience that’s as on-the-go as you are.
So, what’s in store?
The CouchSurfing App, Version One: Surfing and Hosting
To get things started we’ve built a fast, easy-to-use platform for hosting and surfing. You’ll be able to search, view profiles, & send and receive CouchRequests.
The app will be coming out first for iPhone, followed shortly by a release for Android.
A Site Upgrade with New Possibilities for Spontaneity
Our existing site was begun over 10 years ago, when smartphones and the social web were still in their infancies.
Now, our team is imagining what the site would be like if it was designed today. That means a lot of things: better information delivery. A friendlier browsing experience. An interface that gets out of the way and lets the community interact more easily.
It also means adding ways for CouchSurfers to meet that aren’t limited to the computer.
New App Features Coming Later This Summer
If you live in a major city, chances are you’re surrounded by CouchSurfers all the time. And when you’re traveling, it’s pretty likely that whether you’re at the museum or the park, another CouchSurfer is, too.
Imagine if you could easily get in touch with the CouchSurfers around you! That’s the same thing we’re starting to think about.
Very soon, we want you to have the ability to tap into the CouchSurfing community anytime, anywhere, both through the site and on your phone.
